Brooke and our cousins (this is actually my generation of cousins... that's right, I'm the oldest, dorkiest cousin, I wish I had all of these kids to play with when I was little). These kids sure love the water.

I was so lucky to be able to go to Hawaii with my mom and sister, Brooke, for TutuLady's funeral. She was a strong woman who loved working hard, serving others, quilting, her family, and wanted her children and grandchildren to get a good education. I'm grateful for the legacy she left for our family. It was a great time to reconnect with family I've not seen in many years. Also fantastic:Guri Guri Ice Cream at the Maui Mall, Da Kitchen, meals at Auntie Flo's house, volunteering with Camp Imua, Fukushima Hot Dogs from the Fukushima Store (Kaulana & Keola's recommendation), Komoda Bakery (thanks Kaualana for learnin' us about the stick donuts), Roundtable Pizza, cousins, cousins loving Sam, and Polo Beach. LOVED IT! Not sure if you know this, but my son is W-H-I-T-E. My three-sixteenths Hawaiian has had no effect on my son's ability to tolerate sun. Boo.

Oh Little Sam is looking so cute!!! And I couldn't stop laughing at your comment about him being WHITE. Well he sure is a cutie so it's okay if he'll never be tan. Sad circumstances but looked like a fun trip seeing family!
